What is QMS
Data is becoming increasingly important in all plant sectors. New techniques make it easier and faster to collect and exchange data. In addition, more and more sensors are becoming available that help to measure crop development and important environmental factors. Delphy Digital uses this data to develop smart solutions for your cultivation and business management and make them applicable. Data-driven models and systems translate data into concrete advice and actions for the optimization of your cultivation process. That is why Delphy has developed Quality Management Systems (QMS®).
A Quality Management System (QMS) is currently available for the following crops:
QMS Tomato
QMS Tomato is a calculation model to calculate different scenarios of a cultivation plan. On the basis of company- and variety-specific information, the optimal ‘start strategy’ can be made and various strategic cultivation issues are answered: will I as a company invest in artificial light? And if so, with what intensity? What is my ideal stem policy? Should I use fruit pruning? In the adaptive strategy, the plan is then updated with realized data.
QMS Cucumber
QMS Cucumber is a calculation model to calculate different scenarios of a cultivation plan. Based on company and variety-specific information, the optimal ‘start strategy’ can be made and various strategic cultivation issues are answered: am I going to invest in artificial light? If so, with what intensity? What is my ideal stem and pruning policy? Is my desired fruit weight attainable? In the adaptive strategy, the plan is then updated with realized data.
QMS Chrysanthemum
QMS Chrysanthemum is the planning program for the cultivation of chrysanthemums. This program is used to determine how to maximize production and quality in chrysanthemum cultivation. Data from the weather, lighting, varieties, cultivation strategy and realization of height and weight are the basis for predicting and optimizing the harvest weight. In addition, various links are possible with cutting suppliers and sales systems.
QMS Chrysanthemum Management
QMS Chrysanthemum Management is the next step in data-driven Chrysanthemum cultivation. With this, cultivation decisions are substantiated, optimized and made sustainable. By means of interim (automatic) crop measurement, automatic linking with the climate computer and other data sources and accurate planning, the realized growth can be anticipated earlier. With the forecasting model, different cultivation strategies can be calculated and adjustments during cultivation are substantiated. With QMS Chrysanthemum Management we are working towards autonomous control of chrysanthemum cultivation.
QMS Phalaenopsis
QMS Phalaenopsis provides insight into the growth in Phalaenopsis cultivation by means of crop measurement. By recording the number of leaves, leaf area, number of stems, flowers and buds, it is recorded during the entire cultivation how the plant grows. This is then presented in various overviews and graphs. This allows the growth to be assessed and compared with other crops, locations and companies.
QMS Rose
A lot of technology is used in the intensive cultivation of roses. QMS Roos is used to calculate the expected production throughout the year based on the technical installations in the greenhouse, the variety and the cultivation strategy that is applied. The result is an overview of the expected greenhouse climate, production, costs and turnover of the cultivation. In this way the optimal strategy can be chosen.
QMS Fruit growing
Upscaling, further optimizing and making fruit cultivation more sustainable require the use of sensors and new forms of cultivation management based on data with growth and management models. For this reason, Delphy has QMS Fruitteelt available for fruit growers, for optimum control of cultivation and production.
QMS Strawberry (SQMS)
Based on a long-term average of 24-hour temperatures, you can use QMS Strawberry to predict when flowering will start and end. In addition, it is predicted when the harvest will start and end. The forecast is corrected weekly by entering the actual 24 hour temperatures. In this way, the right harvest time can be determined.
QMS Arboriculture
The weather influences the growth of crops but also the development of diseases and pests. QMS Arboriculture has (15) warning models for a number of important diseases and pests. The infection pressure is determined on the basis of a weather station at the nursery. In addition, QMS Boomteelt also contains an overview of the correct spraying moment depending on the agent and the weather conditions.
QMS Fertilization Plan Tree Cultivation
For tree cultivation there is an application available which is used to calculate fertilization advice for full soil fertilization. This application uses soil samples as a basis. A fertilization advice per plot can be made, whereby company-specific preferences can be taken into account.
QMS Water
A model with which the irrigation for arable crops can be controlled. Based on, among other things, data from sensors, crop parameters, soil characteristics, weather forecast, etc. The model indicates per day what the moisture shortage or surplus is per plot. Using QMS Water, the right amount of water can be applied at the right time.
QMS Water offers insight into the water needs of companies. Sensors measure and collect data for a tree, row, plot and the entire orchard. One overview shows which parts of the company need water and can be used on different types of soil and with different types of fruit. By cleverly combining the data obtained about soil, crop and climate, the grower has knowledge of the water requirement.
QMS SolFer (fertilization advice greenhouse horticulture)
QMS SolFer(Solube Fertilizers) is used to calculate fertilization recipes in soluble nutrient systems (A&B bins/injection). The nutrient solution is determined on the basis of the crop, growing medium and cultivation phase. Analyzes of the substrate, drain and possibly the outlet water are used to make corrections in the nutrient solution and to determine the composition of the nutrient water. Depending on the selected fertilizer package, a recipe is calculated with how much of each fertilizer in the recipe must be included.
QMS Plant advice
This application is used by the arable farming advisor(s) for making fertilization advice.
With soil samples as input, the cultivation plan and based on the cultivation, a fertilization advice is determined.
Depending on the customer’s fertilizer preferences, it is calculated how much of each fertilizer should be applied per plot. The application has the option to print out various overviews regarding fertilization advice.
Autonomous climate control
Using the Climate Profiler and the Climate Controller, we can translate the cultivation strategy (for example obtained from QMS Tomato or QMS Cucumber) into set points that are automatically entered in the climate computer. The Climate Profiler converts a daily climate target into a 5-minute target value based on historical data, the weather forecast, and the state of the crop within the specified bandwidths. Based on these target values, the Climate Controller then calculates the set points that are entered directly into the climate computer.
Delphy Dashboard
With the Delphy Dashboard, in collaboration with the 30MHz platform, you monitor and combine crop and climate data in one digital platform. In addition, the dashboard has a local weather forecast and you have the option of integrating various sensors. The feed also offers a functionality with which you can communicate (for example chat function, photos or files) about the data and the crop between the grower, colleagues, study club(s) and your cultivation advisor.
