Especially for professional tomato cultivation, Delphy Academy and the Delphy greenhouse vegetables team have developed the “Tomato Cultivation Specialist” training program. This program consists of three independent training courses that together form the full “Tomato Cultivation Specialist” program. Supported by Delphy tomato cultivation experts, these trainings provide knowledge and tools for optimal cultivation and quality.

What will you learn?

The program consists of three practice-oriented trainings, each focused on a specific aspect of professional tomato cultivation. Each training combines theory with practice, including assignments, greenhouse visits, and room for personal input. You’ll learn from experienced Delphy experts and trainers who are active in the field every day.

Training 1: Cultivation & Climate

Duration: 4 half-days – €795,-

This training dives deeper into tomato cultivation and the possibilities and limitations of greenhouse climate control. It also provides tips and key points on how to manage the greenhouse climate optimally and responsibly.

Topics per session:

  1. Plant physiology, photosynthesis, growth, temperature, CO₂.
  2. Cultivation strategy, fruit setting, and plant development.
  3. Transpiration, humidity, screening, plant density.
  4. Current issues, new developments, and concrete cultivation strategies (Delphy Tomato Team).

 

Training 2: Water & Fertilization

Duration: 3 half-days  – €595,-

This training focuses on fertilization and irrigation in tomato cultivation, offering tips and key points for optimal and responsible execution. Topics include reading analyses, creating fertilization schedules, understanding EC, pH, nutrients, and recognizing deficiencies.

Topics per session:

  1. Water and fertilization, plant water management.
  2. Nutrients, analyses, substrate.
  3. Current issues, new developments, and specific questions (Delphy Greenhouse Vegetables Team).

Training 3: Crop protection & IPM

Duration: 2 half-days – € 395,-

Training on identifying diseases and pests in tomato cultivation and how to control them. Covers IPM setup and biological crop protection. Also includes tips and key points for optimal and responsible crop protection.

Topics per session:

  1. IPM setup, scouting, growth regulation, safe working.
  2. Biological crop protection, identifying diseases and pests.

How it works?

Learning is most effective when words are linked to real-life situations. That’s why we use various examples and exercises and visit the greenhouse. There’s plenty of room for questions and personal input. The training setup is a highly effective way to learn a lot in a short time. The training is provided by Delphy tomato experts and trainers.

The result

The trainings are aimed at participants with some experience who want to grow or gain more insight into modern tomato cultivation. Participants’ prior knowledge and learning needs are always considered in the training content. Each session includes theory, practical application, and assignments.

After completion, you’ll be better able to:
