Spectral filtering PV in cool crops – strawberry pilot

Delphy and Voltiris aim to determine the potential of spectrally filtering PV in cool crops (pilot crop: strawberry) for the generation of sustainable energy in greenhouses. Attention is paid to the expected positive effects on cultivation, including lower plant temperature, higher and more stable crop production, more efficient CO₂ use, and reduced heat loss. Delphy coordinates the research, provides crop technical guidance, and translates the results into practice. Growers and other interested parties are welcome to visit the trial.

Research duration: April 2025 – October 2026

This project/research was realized within the framework of the “Greenhouse as Energy Source” program, the innovation and action program of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food Security and Nature, and Greenhouse Horticulture Netherlands and is also co financed by Stichting Kennis in je Kas (KIJK) and Stichting Aardbei Onderzoek.
