Light is an Essential Factor in Plant Production. In addition to sunlight, many growers have transitioned to cultivating under LED lighting in recent years. But how can you make optimal use of light? And what factors play a role when deciding to invest in lighting? The Growing with Light training, which provides insights into both the technical and economic aspects of lighting, is offered in collaboration with HAS Green Academy.

About the training
This training focuses on translating theoretical knowledge into your own practical situation. After the first training day, you will apply the theory in various ways. On the second day, we will reflect extensively on the experiences you have gained. You will also be inspired by insights shared by your fellow participants.
This training is offered in both spring and autumn.
Learning Outcomes
After completing the Cultivating with Light training, you will have gained insight into:
- What light can do for a plant;
- The meaning of measurement data and how to interpret it;
- The current state of lighting applications in the horticulture sector;
- How to implement lighting applications in your own business, including the technical and economic aspects.
Upon successfully completing the training, you will receive a certificate of participation from Delphy Academy and HAS Green Academy.

The Growing with Light training consists of two training days:
Day 1
Topics covered:
- Light sources and light units
- The influence of light on photosynthesis
- The effect of light on plant water balance
- The impact of light on plant morphology
- Light measurements using various instruments in the greenhouse
- Exercises with a simulation model
Day 2
Topics covered:
- The effect of light on different crops
- How to apply light in your own cultivation: insights for your practice
- The economic aspects of lighting, including costs and benefits of various applications across different crops
- Understanding research results related to light
