It’s official: QMS Strawberry is launched and available to the first complete users! After over a year of development, during which growers, data scientists, researchers, cultivation engineers, software engineers and advisors worked closely together, we are proud to reach this milestone.
What is QMS Strawberry?
QMS Strawberry (Quality Management System Strawberry) is a data-driven software system designed to empower strawberry growers in planning and optimizing their cultivation. The system integrates with climate control systems, crucial plant data is collected through a crop registration app. This data is used in a growth model and visualized in a user-friendly cultivation dashboard, providing insight and control over the cultivation.
The unique strength of QMS Strawberry lies in its ability to give insight into and optimize the assimilate balance (the balance between the production and consumption of sugars). Using advanced growth models, the system provides concrete answers to questions such as:
- What is the optimal development of the leaf area index (LAI) for my crop, and how has it evolved?
- How and when should I optimize CO₂ and lighting to achieve maximum yields?
- What temperature is needed to balance the demand and production of assimilates?
In addition to optimizing the assimilate balance, QMS Strawberry also offers a harvest forecast for all the cultivations on a farm. With the help of data and smart growth models, the expected yield for the coming weeks is calculated. This allows to anticipate changing conditions and make strategic decisions for successful cultivation and sales.
