Supporting smallholder farmers by capacity building of extension staff on innovative agricultural methods.
This Tailor-Made Training (TMT) aims to support smallholder farmers in Egypt by building the capacity of technical teams from four leading agro-food companies—Mozare3, Tamkeen, BioEgypt, and Diar Mariam—that have extensive reach to smallholder farmers.
The training equips participants with skills in climate-smart agriculture, saline farming, water management, and entrepreneurship, enhancing their ability to help small farmers tackle the impacts of climate change.
Key topics include sustainable agricultural practices, innovative water management, and entrepreneurial thinking, delivered through tailored modules that address challenges like soil salinity and climate adaptation.
The program also emphasizes gender inclusivity, creating a safe and supportive environment for learning and collaboration.
Delphy designs and delivers the training, ensuring practical, sustainable solutions while fostering partnerships for knowledge exchange. By strengthening technical and collaborative skills, the project empowers individuals and organizations to drive sustainable agricultural development in Egypt.
Connection with Sustainable Development Goals
The project focused on improving the current knowledge of the participants from Mozare3, Tamkeen, and Diar Mariam staff and technical support team in different topics in order to provide them with solutions to the current challenges in the agricultural sector of Egypt to be fully equipped to support smallholder farmers to overcome those challenges.
