Tree-Specific Fruit Thinning for Less Labor and Greater Control Over Production
In fruit growing, fruit thinning is an important but labor-intensive step. Due to labor shortages and differences between trees, it is difficult to carry out this process efficiently and uniformly.
In the DunWinst project, growers and partner BOFIX-Systems are working on a new approach to fruit thinning, in which mechanical thinning is tailored to the individual tree. The goal is to develop task cards based on data, so that interventions can be more targeted for each tree.
The aim is to develop a practical method that saves labor while ensuring better and more predictable production.
