Presentations are online of the Dutch Potatoday

16 February 2026

We look back on a successful Dutch Potato Day 2026. We hope you enjoyed the day as much as we did, that you were able to attend the workshops you wanted to attend and that you were able to meet the people you came to Potato Day to meet. The presentations from these workshops can be viewed on the events page (in Dutch).

Workshop Johannes Ritz (Bioland, Germany). Stolbur. Practical experiences in Germany

Johannes Ritz works as a consultant in Baden-Württemberg in Germany. In his field of work, he has seen the damage caused by Stolbur and SBR increase in recent years. During Seed Potato Day, he shared his practical experiences. He discussed the solutions chosen in Germany and the importance of preventive action.

Workshop Jan Salomons (Delphy). What else can be done to control viruses in seed potatoes?

In the past growing season, there were several disappointments in the results of Y virus and leaf roll in the post-control. Delphy continues to look for improvements in cultivation. This workshop discussed, among other things, the effects of whitening the ridges and other cultivation measures that can influence virus transmission.

Workshop Stan Koning and Erik van der Vegt (Vegniek). Optical potato selection. How simple can it be?

How can your knowledge of potato selection be easily and quickly applied in the world of AI? Vegniek introduced their optical potato selection system this year. This combines the practical and efficient selection trolley with the intelligence of cameras and AI. This workshop provided insight into the system and what it can do for you.

Workshop Paul Andela (Andela TNI). Mechanical weed control in potatoes

With the phasing out of crop protection products, the need for mechanical weed control is becoming increasingly important. Paul Andela explained the experiences to date and outlined the possibilities for both the current situation and the future.

The Seed Potato Day 2026 was organised by Delphy Akkerbouw Noordwest-Nederland and Projecten en Innovaties and was made possible by our exhibitors, sponsors and main sponsor.
