Walk-in meeting: More sustainably grown lavender

On Friday, July 10, the “From Cultivation to Garden” project will host an open house at Delphy’s Research Nursery in Hazerswoude-Dorp. Visitors will receive information about the project and can view the trial in the greenhouse.

Drop-in hours: 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The “From Cultivation to Garden” project is carried out by Intratuin, Tuinbranche Nederland, and Delphy in collaboration with Florensis, Van der Salm, Van Woudenberg Tuinplanten, and LavendelPlus. The goal is to grow lavender with minimal use of crop protection products in accordance with the requirements of MPS GreenerGrown *** (using only organic products). Research is being conducted to develop a new cultivation protocol. Another component of the project is to encourage consumer acceptance of sustainable plants, increase the volume of plants grown using greener methods, and set an example for the entire ornamental plant sector. The project aligns with the Dutch horticultural sector’s ambition to have a 70% chemical-free plant supply by 2030. The “From Cultivation to Garden” project is co-funded by the European Union.

You are welcome to visit between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. at the Research Nursery located at Dijkgraafweg 32 in Hazerswoude-Dorp.

Various plant care products, biostimulants, and fertilization strategies are being tested in the greenhouse. The research also examines potting soil composition and plant varieties to develop strong, resilient plants.

Intratuin and Tuinbranche will be on hand to discuss the goal of achieving 70% chemical-free cultivation with you.

No registration is required.
