BERLIN, the 100 most innovative tomato growers in the world will be gathering in Berlin on 4th February 2016 during the third edition of the Tomato Inspiration Event. Those present will be able to cast their votes for one of the four nominated growers or growers’ organisations during this evening.
The guests will consist of colleague growers, retail, trade and suppliers.
The four growers nominated for the 2016 Tomato Inspiration Award are APS Salads from Cheshire (UK), the Flandria label of the joint Belgian auctions (LAVA) from Leuven (Belgium), Sundrop Farms from Adelaide (Australia) and Zeiler Gemüsevertrieb from Münchendorf (Austria). The nominated growers have been introduced via short trailers on our website (www.tomatoinspirationeven.com) from Tuesday 26th January 2016. The event guests are challenged to delve deeper into these companies’ backgrounds via the event website as well as the nominees’ own websites.
Two interesting speakers are also included on the programme, in addition to the election of the most inspiring tomato grower. Henk van Dongen, CEO of Fresh Retail (the Netherlands) and Edward Zhu, CEO of the Chic Group (China) will be sharing their visions regarding the effects of online retail on the distribution of tomatoes during the next five years. The programme will be under the expert guidance of Simone van Trier.
The Tomato Inspiration Event will be taking place in the Puro Skybar in Berlin and will be held during the same week as the Fruit Logistica exhibition. The event and exhibition are seen as a perfect and particularly inspiring combination for tomato growers from right across the world. The Tomato Inspiration Event is an initiative by KAS/Tuinbouwcommunicatie and HortiBiz.
The event is being funded by Bayer, Delphy, Koppert Biological Systems, Oerlemans Plastics, Priva, Saint-Gobain Cultilene and Svensson.
