Van Tuijl Haaften is a leading producer and trader of pots, trays and sticks. Van Tuijl also develops standard pots and customised products for growers. The company can offer anything a plant grows in or is supported with. From a personal and committed approach, the client’s wishes are discussed in detail and processed into customised products. With short delivery times and a service-oriented attitude, it is possible to serve customers efficiently, quickly and customised. Own transport lines, own machinery for injection moulded products and own warehouse make this possible.
The soft fruit market is a relatively young market for VTH, where much growth is visible both nationally and internationally. Involvement in the soft fruit sector came from a dealership with a Danish company that produces paperpots. Van Tuijl now makes various strawberry tubs and pots especially for soft fruit.
The cultivation of young plants in soft fruit using paperpots has been proven and it is VTH’s wish to develop this even further. For example, by making it possible for a soft fruit grower to produce paperpots himself in order to save costs and ensure the freshness of the plug. “What we prefer to do is develop customer-specific products that benefit the entire market. We like to keep a close eye on the developments in cultivation.”
Innovation partner Delphy ISFC
The added value of the innovation partnership is that at Delphy ISFC partners from various other disciplines are involved. VTH wants to cooperate and develop together: gain knowledge and know-how.
About Delphy ISFC
Delphy Innovative Soft Fruit Centre is the new hotspot of the international soft fruit sector. Delphy ISFC operates as an incubator for knowledge and innovation in soft fruit and also as the meeting point of the sector. In a unique way knowledge development and implementation are brought together on an international scale. Unique because of the connection with the sector and the cooperation with partners. Knowledge implementation is the second important factor. This is expressed through international events, knowledge days and other initiatives where research results are shared.
A special initiative to jointly drive innovation in the soft fruit sector are the ‘innovation partners’ of Delphy ISFC. They invest collectively in projects that contribute to a progressive soft fruit sector. The focus of the Delphy ISFC innovation partners is on themes like resilient cultivation, developing new cultivation strategies, optimising the propagation of soft fruit, cultivation under LED light and digitalisation.
